Jesus asked, “But what about you? Who do you say I am?” (Matthew 16:15). Our response may describe Jesus as loving, forgiving, and all powerful. We may also respond with a resounding, “Jesus is the Lord!”. Once we know who Jesus is, it’s important for us to tell others about him so that they too can can grow to know him and love him as we do.

Dinner Conversation:
As a family, discuss “who” each of you are in Christ. For example, if you were to describe yourself to a person you just met in one sentence, what would you say? In turn, if you were to describe Jesus in one sentence what would you say? Below, there are questions that might help you in your discussion.

  1. What is one personal trait/characteristic you are most proud of?
  2. What is one trait/characteristic that you would select to describe your family?
  3. If you could only choose one or two words to describe Jesus, what words would you choose?
  4. What gift(s) did Jesus give to you? How do you share your gift(s) with others?

FRIENDS
Who are you, really? Do your best friends see who you really are? Do you see who they really are? Ask a good friend to tell you how they see you. The only rule is that they must be positive and loving. Then, ask them to let you tell them who you think they are--also being careful to focus on love, not criticism. Afterwards, have a conversation about what you each got right or wrong… and what else you might want to know about each other. We bet you will each learn something--and become closer to one another. Remember to thank God for your friend--and to ask them to pray for you.
