Children's Liturgy of the Word
All children 5-9 years of age can participate!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word will resume on September 22nd at the 10:00 a.m. Mass.
Anyone interested in assisting with this ministry please contact Deacon Sean or Ann McGreal and plan on attending our meeting on August 4th at 9:00 a.m. in Room 1. Any teens interested in assisting and getting service hours are also encouraged to join!
Children’s Liturgy of the Word will typically be held at 10 a.m. masses on the second and fourth Sundays of the month depending on holidays. The goal for a separate Liturgy of the Word with children is to help them hear God’s message in a way they can participate. This is a liturgical experience that opens young people to hear and respond to God’s Word in a focused environment.
We want to:
Help children to have an age-appropriate experience of the Liturgy of the Word
Help children to apply the Word of God to their own experiences and actions
Help children to become closer to God
Help children to learn how to participate, both internally and externally, in the celebrations of the Mass.
